Description

We're design researchers from Coforma, a design agency. We're working with our client, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), to get feedback on the IRS's tax withholding estimator. You will be able go through the tool and share your opinions and expectations to inform improvements and shape future product features.

These sessions involve walking through a prototype of tax withholding estimator using your income information (and your spouse's if married filing jointly) and other financial information while a researcher observes and asks follow-up questions to gather feedback.

We want to learn from people who have a range of knowledge and comfort levels with taxes. We'll only use what we learn from you to help improve the product. You can participate regardless of your current history or knowledge of taxes.

Voluntary participation: You're not required to participate. If you do, anything you share with us in this survey or in the research session will be confidential and voluntary. However, if you don't include the requested information, you may not be eligible to participate. You can decide to end your participation at any time.

Privacy Act Statement: The authority requesting this information is 5 United States Code 301. The primary purpose of requesting this information is to determine steps the IRS can take to improve our services to you. The information may be disclosed as authorized by the routine uses published in the following Privacy Act System of Records: (1) IRS 00.001 Correspondence Files and Correspondence Control Files, and (2) IRS 10.004 Stakeholder Relationship Management and Subject Files. Providing the information is voluntary. Not answering some or all of the questions will not affect you.
