We are conducting a field research study on how people prepare for and use a cooler during camping trips.
COMPENSATION：
Participants will receive a minimum compensation of $240 USD for taking part in the study.
WHAT:
The study includes two parts:
Observation at your home before departure (how you prepare and pack your cooler)
Observation at the camping site (how you use your cooler during the trip)
Four researchers will be present throughout the study to observe, take notes, and have light, non-intrusive conversations.
WHEN:
The study will take place within 7 days, on a date agreed upon by both sides.
On the study day, we will first meet you at your home before departure.
We will then travel with you to the camping location and continue the observation on-site.
WHERE:
You will choose your own camping location within the Los Angeles area (e.g., beach, park, campground, or other outdoor sites).
After selecting the location, please send us the details in advance.
If the location requires a reservation or has any entry fees, please inform us beforehand so arrangements can be coordinated.
Our team will drive and meet you at your home, then follow you to the selected site.
WHO:
Participants who own a cooler and plan to use it during a camping trip
Individuals willing to be observed both at home (preparation stage) and during outdoor camping
Participants comfortable with a small research team of four researchers observing and taking notes during the process
Note: Compensation is calculated based on the actual observation and interview time spent at your home and at the campsite (e.g., preparation at home, on-site setup, and leisure activities). The estimated rate is $120 per hour. Any updates or changes to the compensation will be communicated to you well in advance.
