Lucy is a Research Operations specialist supporting and scaling research in the public sector.

She is a Research Operations Lead at the Department for Education in England and currently leads DfE’s User Research participant recruitment strategy, ensuring their digital products are underpinned by quality research. Protecting participants' data is also very important to Lucy and she’s authored reams of guidance on how to do this in research. She helped build ReOps from the ground up for a community of over 100 user researchers, and co-founded a cross-government community of over 150 ReOps professionals—one of her proudest achievements to date.

Lucy holds a BA in Social Science with a specialization in Politics from the University of Manchester. She wrote her dissertation on how big data was being used in political campaigning and she’s taken that knowledge with her to focus on data protection in ReOps.

Outside of work, Lucy is a trustee of the Dick Camplin Educational Trust, seeking to improve access to higher education for those from a lower socioeconomic background.
