About the Workshop

Participant Recruitment 101 is all about the fundamentals of effective participant recruitment: learn from a research leader so you can design an effective, scalable recruitment strategy, reduce fraud risk, and confidently source qualified participants—without wasting time or budget.

By the end of the workshop, attendees will be able to:

Design a recruitment plan aligned to research goals, explicitly accounting for timeline, participant profile, budget, incentives, and sourcing constraints.

Translate research objectives into a precise participant definition, distinguishing between must-haves, nice-to-haves, and disqualifiers.

Select appropriate recruitment methods based on audience type (e.g., B2C vs. B2B) and study goals.

Determine realistic sample sizes and incentive structures for qualitative and quantitative studies.

Build a high-quality screener survey that triangulates qualification criteria while minimizing fraud and survey bias.

The workshop is led by Instructor Eniola Abioye, a UX expert and founder of the UX Outloud community.
